Have just tried to make my appointment at my local clinic as I had to cancel my last one due to snow and ice and was the on holiday for 2 weeks. Was told none at my clinic or at next local village or town but could get one at a mobile clinic on a bus route five miles away in supermarket car park.
Was then told such appointments were now being cut down to 3pa. Also that they only have details on their computer for 2 weeks ahead. This all despite my telling them that I had no feeling in left toes and was getting numbness in right foot and had been told categorically that I must not even attempt to cut my own nails. It is now 6 weeks from my last visit and will be 8 weeks by the time I see the mobile clinic - they need cutting now and they think I should wait 16 weeks in future. This is definitely NOT putting feet first. The only good point is that the person I will be seeing at the mobile clinic is one I have been seen by before at the town clinic so at least I don't have to go over my history again, especially as it took nearly 2 years to persuade local surgery I needed a referral.

That is not good all, but I don’t need to tell you that.
Maybe the person you spoke to didn’t realise or was unaware that your at much higher risk because of the neuropathy (I have hardly any feeling in my feet, so I well underand the risks) and was just quoting the general rules for you.
I hope they don’t cut the podiatry service here as I’ll be scuppered.

When you go to the appointment maybe the podiatrist can help sort things out for you. I hope so anyway.
Do let us know how you get on

An NHS podiatrist does private work at my local shopping centre ..in the side room of a community pharmacy.

It is not cheap ..but the ✻advantage✻ is that I can book Saturday afternoon slots ..which happen every six weeks or so.

My feet are my biggest diabetes ✻expense✻ ..in terms of quality foot cream, socks, shoes, etc.
