I was diagnosed about a weeks ago I can’t really remember as a lot has been on my mind. But I’m finding it difficult to discover foods that can help balance/lower blood sugar, if you’ve got any foods or recipes at all that you recommend would be really help.

Just cut down on anything with carbohydrate in it but there's no food at all that will actually lower our blood glucose - only the insulin we inject can do that, the same as how other people's pancreases do for them.

As your type 1 you could inject insulin for the carbohydrates so I wouldn't look at any special diets just yet, ask your team about carb counting as that is a huge help in controlling type 1 diabetes xx

I was diagnosed many years ago but am only just learning to manage it. And like you I'm finding it difficult to find a good source of recipes that don't require fancy ingredients.

Hi. My circumstances are similar to yours. I just read Michael Mosley's 8-Week Blood Sugar Diet book, and am making good use of his wife's (Dr Clare Bailey) recipe book. Like you, however, I am finding the situation challenging (I have a sweet tooth!) - although I've already lost weight and reduced my sugars. I'll see how thing go over the next few weeks.

Also the OP was a Type 1 so presumable on insulin which can make a difference xx

It is not reversible in all cases, in the research that flagged it only about 50 % managed.
