Hi,

I am Type 2 and currently not on medication due to suspected remission.

I'm struggling at the moment though with sudden drops in my blood sugar. My glucose rises as normal after a meal (usually around 7.5 - 8.5mmol) and sometimes it can stay there for a while. Then suddenly in less than an hour I will go from 8.5 - 4.5mmol (which is what happened today).

I'm unsure why this is happening. The sudden drop can leave me feeling odd even though I'm not dropping into hypo territory.

My best guess to the reasoning is my diet and I wonder if it's a type of reactive hypoglycemia.

Just wondering if anyone else has had similar experience and has any recommendations around food choices to stop this happening.

Thanks!

Yes.

I've had this when I ate something high in carbs. Seems to hit a 'ceiling' of around 8.0 and then drops down, sometimes quite quickly. I've had readings in the 4s after eating a lot of carbs.

It's perfectly normal.

That sounds perfectly normal @JessG123 🙂 That looks nothing like Reactive Hypoglycaemia. I know you’ve mentioned your anxiety about hypers and hypos before, but that looks fine.
