I was pretty rigorous about keeping a food diary in the first 6 months or so but I am less committed to it now and mostly just record the Carbohydrate Portions (10g carbs = 1CP) I eat and how much insulin I have used for it and of course my readings.

Years ago when I was diagnosed I used to keep a food diary , I can’t remember how long for now as it’s so long ago, but when I stopped keeping one whentried new foods I still recorded what I ate and the results.

Then when I went into insulin in 2016 I started properly again and continued for about a year Now I do the similar to @rebrascora

Funny you should mention this Berenice coz I came across my old food diary only yesterday. I don't keep a diary these days tho as I know what foods I can and cannot tolerate.

I kept a food diary until my HbA1C confirmed I was in remission. I feel it was as essential as a Blood Glucose meter in helping me find my path to my new LCHF 'Way of Eating'.
I don't test anywhere nearly so often now since I know the effect on me of every food I'm likely to eat.

I used to.

I did for the first three weeks. Not any more.
I just avoid carbs as much as is possible.

I have done it a couple of times when D team asked for one but don’t do it day to day. I pretty much know what I can and can’t have and test if I’m having something different. Happy Christmas x

I just had a couple of shopping lists which I used alternately for some time - these days I make lists when I have too much in the house rather than too little.
I seem to have cornered the market for 95 percent cocoa chocolate, Tesco chicken and coop sausages so must avoid further purchases until stocks have reduced.

I have found keeping logs of BGs, doses, responses to activity and other things very useful over the years. I don’t do it all the time any more, but it’s almost like logging/keeping notes helps me think and process the decision making.
