Hi everybody, just a quick one, i have flu and my blood sugars are kinda high and i have ketones but my question is this, why does my pee stick show ++++ and yet my meter shows on 1+ and yes i know its hours old but when i do the pee thing hours later it still show ++++ so theoretically speaking my blood meter should have been ++++, any light anyone? Oh and i peed on about 10 strips all showing ++++ and some from a different pot :D

Check whethere the ketones strips are in date first. If they are and you are getting the same readings as before I personally would call NHS direct.
Generally what I find with illness in general is that I have to put my insulins up. I've been a little under the weather over the past few weeks and my bloods have been generally higher than normal.

Sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis, I was diagnosed in 1995 when I was five. Hope it turns out to be something trivial.
If you want to ask me anything my MSN is raybans1990@hotmail.com and I'm always happy to help.
