Has everyone got theirs lined up? My surgery do it on Saturday mornings - there is usually a big long queue but they get through it so quickly you can be in and out in less than two minutes! Mine is on 13th October. 🙂

Thanks for reminding me........

I will need to inquire as I dont think I have ever had an appointment sent out.....

Might even get it at my next pump clinic appointment on the 17th of October.....

Nope and since they included the piglet vaccine in it I have refused point blank to have the vaccination.

I missed mne last year, don't know if it is coincidence but I seem to have had fewer chest infections (I only had one insyead of 3 or 4), although I did have a couple of other nasties which were not respiratory related.

Think this is a personal call and many people do benefit from them.

I'm having mine done on Saturday - having asthma as well I'm afraid not to have it done.

I currently have a cold & chest infection - is it still ok to get the jab done? My colleague says I won't be able to?

my son is having his this afternoon after school- does this ever effect blood sugars?- its his first one

I'm getting mine done through my company - they have Flu Fighter's come in and Jab the staff.

Since I'm being seen by the hospital consultant only, I suspect I'm off the Surgeries radar so they probably wouldn't remember to call me unless I reminded them (that was what happened last year).

I think it does make a difference, but when in doubt ask who ever is doing it.

Mine booked in for Sat 10/11/12 as couldn't make the clinic's set for October.

Normally have them on diabetic review by nurse, but next 1 not until the New Year so a bit late by then.

Any advice on convincing hubby (also T2) on having 1 as not keen. I've already told him I'm no nurse next time he gets man flu; goodness only knows if he had a full-blown flu.

Was at the Gps surgery today and signs everywhere saying available from 1st Oct but seeing D nurse tomorrow hopefully the stock is in and she can just jab me to save me going back again...

My GP collared me today :( Not impressed!

I usually don't bother making an appointment - I'm pretty indestructible and life's too short for me to take time off work to potter around the GP's surgery. If they happen to catch me when I'm there I'll get it done but I never make a special effort for it. Frankly I find it a little patronising that because I manually manage my sugars, I'm considered as vulnerable as an 80-year-old woman or someone with AIDS.

mine is on the 9th of oct open clinic dreading it already:(

I got a text message from my surgery telling me it was available. I almost fell of my chair I was that shocked they were so proactive. I am going on Monday.

I don't see it that way. If you are having to control your levels manually then a serious infection like flu can make managing your levels much more difficult than if you were non-D, and it wouldn't really make sense to check everyone's history and preferences to see if you would be able to cope or not.

I was very blase about the whole thing so didb't bother one year.

I had flu that Xmas. Not man flu or a chest infection - Flu.

As someone else said after that - wish I'd said it - even my HAIR hurt. Awful.

Off work for a MONTH. Too weak to come downstairs for a week. Didn't cry all that much though I'd have liked to, but hadn't got the strength to blow my nose ....
