I should be getting my reminder fairly soon and then I'll have to go through the whole "I'm allergic to eggs" rigamrole again. It's clearly noted in my records, but they do the same thing every year anyway. I usually end up getting the egg-free one eventually, but only after half a dozen phone calls. Sigh. 🙄

Booked appt for hubby, my mum & me this morning after having my Dn appt who reminded me the clinics are open for business.

mine has been cancelled by the doctors surgery (was on a mass book in day) & they wont book me in with a nurse 😡

*puts up a disease guard*

I had the flu jab until a couple or three years ago and had so many chest infections I decided it wasn't worth it. I still get the chest infections but only getthe odd one instead of three or four a year lasting months. I know chest infections and the flu are different things but it seems funny how I feel better for not having the flu jab.

I would love to see the statistics on these. People have been getting these for years now ?? Cost to NHS ?? Do they do any good ??

they will cost the NHS money and as for doing any good, I think it is like all medication, it will work for some and not others and it has to be a personal decision to have it or not. There is no right answer for everyone

The only year I didn't have it, I had the flu - all over Xmas and New Year.

Someone put flu in a nutshell, 'when even your hair hurts'. Yes it certainly does, and of course we are covered in that.

I ain't risking that again if there's anything I can do to prevent it.

I new it was an advantage me having a receding hair line TW :D Hair got blown off riding bike & Jetskis 😉

For me, it's a simple choice:

Will the jab kill me? No, and I can live with a sore arm.
Could flu kill me? Yes, I have asthma as well as D.

I skipped a few when the kids were smaller - my immune system always took such a dent making flu antibodies in the week(s) following that I always picked up some other bug going round.

Had one last couple of years with no ill effects so now happy for Doc to get QoF payment for mine, since they are so good with strip supply.
