I feel terrible today, my head feels like it is being squeezed and my ears hurt, feel like I'm on a plane and they feel blocked.

I'm booked in for flu jab in the morning. Will they give it me if they know I feel ill/am I'll ?

Hi, they usually ask if you are well, have cold etc, we are made to sign disclaimer for same, which in my mind means "risky", if you feel off colour postpone it as it may well be too much for your immune system to handle x

I think it depends on who is doing it and where it is being done. My doctors surgey wont. Ask them and see whatthey say.

To be honest I missed my flu jab last year because of one thing and another and I have only had one chest infection instead of two or three so I am taking advice this year.

My surgery will not do the flu jab if you have an infection, have a cold or are allergic to eggs. (There is a special one that they have to order for people with egg allergy).

I've gone along a couple of times with a cold and they took my temperature first and said it was ok to go ahead.

Hmm maybe if you have gone through the 'feverish' stage it kinda proves your immune system is coping? or something, haven't a clue but as I have a stinker and mine's due Weds I'd like to know too.

I think part of the feeling of death warmed up with a cold is the 'good' sleep you lose rather than the cold itself? Or just generally - I lose sleep cos I'm coughing a lot.

Had the jab as I've not got a temperature but was advised to make appointment and see Dr as well. Terrible ear ache today.

I hope the ear ache is better soon. Have you got something that will help eas e it until you see the doctor. In winter if I don't keep mine warm I get horrible terrible ear ache.

I've had a cold/chest infection this week, which I'm on antibiotics for so told them this when I went along for my flu jab today but they said as long as I didn't have a fever, which I don't, it was fine to go ahead.

Glad you managed to get your jab and hope you feel better soon Di.

Flu jab

Had my appointment for flu jab yesterday, had a stinker of a cold this last week, but felt better by Friday.

I was supposed to give blood on Friday, but cancelled, flu jab more important.

Anyhow went in, luckily the Doctor who does the diabetes clinic saw me, asked how I was, I told him, asked me if I had a chesty cough, I said a bit, he listened to my chest 'clear as a bell' said he, gave me the flu jab.

He did emphasise the importance of the flu jab to diabetics.

So far so good😎
