I have a question about flour and how to keep it fresh as I hardly use it anymore. I thought I read somewhere that you can freeze it (it might have been on this site). Apart from standard flour I have a huge bag of almond flour....can I freeze this too? And, a third question....are there any recipes ideas here for using the almond flour? I would be grateful for any help on this floury question! 🙂

Somebody mentioned the other day that you can freeze flour, probably better to do in small portions that you can thaw and use immediately.
I use almond flour in a crumble topping with low sugar granola and butter no sweetener really needed for my taste.
The recipes on the website sugarfreelondoner use almond flour /ground almonds in their cakes and biscuits etc.

probably me.
Freezing anything slows down the process of decomposition or oxidation - Powders don't make solid lumps in the freezer so I just put the whole big bag in, with the top folded over, and a rap on the side will loosen it enough to scoop out what is required for a recipe.
There's psyllium, coconut and almond flour, ground flax seed as well as whole seeds all sitting in the freezer awaiting their moment...

Good advice….thank you….

As far as recipe ideas I make muffins, fathead rolls and pizza from almond flour. Again I freeze them as once made they would not last . I seem to use almond flour. I would day if i did not freeze things it would make this diet wasteful and too expensive. Each to their own.
Just had fathead roll this morning and glad he is here as they are yummy and I would like more but my motto is to try and resist as giving in will make it harder.
Sometimes i am fine other times its a hurdle I often feel I cannot get over.
However My main motto is . Stop letting it beat me this is for a better me.

120g ground almonds/ flour
30g flax seeds(linseed)
1egg
1/2 tsp. baking powder
{2 tsp seeds. I use sesame and linseed but easy use pumpkin, chia or poppy. }
Method
melt cheeses in microwave (bowl one) cool a little
mix dry ingredients except the last{ two tsp seeds} in ( bowl 2)
Whisk egg then add to bowl one and whisk altogether .
Mix wet bowl one ingredients to dry bowl two ingredients to form a dough . no Kneading required .
roll into 6 balls and dip on the seeds
Place on a baking sheet or greased tray.
Bake in oven for 15 mins approx. .

I love the sound of this! Thank you so much….🙂

Big recommend for the Sugar Free Londoner site! Most is low-carb and sugar free.

I struggle to get through all the adverts for the recipes . Also i find a lot of sweet things use sweeteners and they leave a taste in my mouth.
I am trying to have less things like that. However its good to have something now and again.

Fair enough. I don’t really have a sweet tooth, so have mainly used the savoury recipes.

To be honest

How do you get around the adverts?

TBH I haven’t noticed it too much. I do tend to use the “jump to recipe” when I use online recipes, so skip the chatter in general…

Thank you maybe thats what I'm doing wrong on the mobile the adverts obscure a lot . So ill search for jump to recipe. The bread looks good and their is a guy here that bakes wonderfully . Thank you This will inspire me.

Great - see attached in pink boxes - there is always a “jump to recipe” option at the top of most cooking websites…
