Welcome to the forum Flip. The forum is a good place for the "cans" too
Your phrase "testing the waters" remined me of watching my mother's friend (now would be known as Type 2) managing her diabetes some 40 years ago with test tubes and tablets for testing her urine then glass syringes and what seemed to me to be huge needles for her insulin. As someone then in her early teens I found it all horribly fascinating seeing her urine testing and matching against a colour chart affecting how much insulin she would take. Didn't seem to affect what she ate, drank or smoked tho
Now I'm Type 2 boy am I glad of my tables and glucose meter and options if I should need insulin but wonder where the next decade will take us, let alone the next 40 years
