Not a pleasant topic but for myself it has become quite a problem. especially since I stated injecting insulin. Coincidence or not?
I have been trying to eat more low GI foods and am keeping a check on BG levels 7 times daily at the moment as I am due to see nurse next Thursday to see if units need changing. I feel I am well under control with fasting levels in 6s and pre meals 4-5. Bed time 7s but occasionally has dipped into 6s so have had a biscuit. Rare now to get to 9.
So it is so embarrassing to have now developed this problem. I am on 2 g Metformin MR daily but was on this before insulin and not a problem. So I presume it is because of eating slow release carbs causing it. Anyone found this a problem and what has eased it. Charcoal tablets are suggested on NHS web site - anyone tried them- any use? As I am going on a 3 day coach trip next week really would like to alleviate it.
