Diabetes UK has information here: Flash glucose monitoring which also has a link for the related CGMs.

Quite a few of us have the main (actually only, I think, for the moment) flash glucose monitor, FreeStyle Libre. (Libre 2 is gradually replacing it.) It's currently prescribed to about 35% of people with Type 1 diabetes.

Comes as small sensors, each of which last 14 days. They have a small, flexible, tube that goes just through the skin. (The applicator has a spring-loaded pin that goes through the middle of the sensor pushing the tube through the skin. In practice it's pretty painless to use. Just a bit disturbing the first couple of times.)

Sensors can be scanned with some smartphones and they also sell a reader (which is also a glucometer).

Libre are great but do not completely remove the need to finger prick.
There are lots of threads on Libre discussing the pros and cons. Rather than me trying to remember all of them, I recommend searching for Libre and having a read.

Bruce and helli many thanks for the help I will go and investigate.( probably be back with more questions than answers,
Peach out . Stay save. Semper fidelis
