I am wondering about the quantity of eggs per week that is now considered ok. re cholesterol ?

Fish always used to be maximum 3 times a week because of the mercury absorption, it depends on the fish of course.

Just wondering how many eggs and fish others are eating each week?

Well, I don't think I'm pushing any limits but I decided to limit my fish to Wild Caught owing to concerns about the quality & environmental impact of farmed fish

Nothing we can eat or drink has any effect whatsoever on our serum (blood) cholesterol level - it was a fallacy put forward by many which has now been completely disproved. The thing that we all need to do is balance our whole diet so I don't think you can overeat eggs, unless you are also overdosing on all types of protein. Fish I can't comment about - depends where you live, how fresh it is, and where/how it was caught.

thanks Jenny, I think with fish it is recommended only 2-3 portions a week but the amount of mercury would be unknown, not knowing where the fish are swimming and what other fish they are eating: http://www.bbc.co.uk/guides/zs3882p

Good choices are high Omega-3 fatty fish... Like Salmon, mackerel, herring, lake trout, sardines, anchovies, and tuna.

thanks Martin, I usually go for Salmon, sometimes mackerel, tuna, I have been eating basa fillets, but I am wondering to forego those and king prawn. I love fresh water trout too 😛
