Went for my first visit to my surgery for bloods, urine sample and weighing, I weigh my self in my 'birthday suit' not my winter cloths minus shoes!

The HCA took my BP 130/99, look of shock, when I saw my GP a couple of weeks ago he took my BP he was quite happy with 137/87, later at home I took my BP 119/86, made me feel better.

I was told that I would see the DSN in a couple of weeks, to check feet, eyes, retake my BP, the HCA also told me that they would give me a BG monitor, surprise, surprise must wait and see.

Cheers

Are you sure the look of shock wasn't because you were still in your birthday suit?

Your bp reading was interesting though. I tend to find my first number is raised due to the white coat syndrome rather than the second. The only time I had a second reading that high was after taking a certain little blue pill!

My BP always shows higher at the doctor's than at home - I'm sure if it was instant it would be fine, but no matter how much I try and relax, listening to the thing pump up and down just makes me tense up! Ideally, they like us to be at 130/80 or below. I have a similar gripe about being weighed - do they subtract a bit for the clothes? As you say, clothes are heavier at this time of the year too, so how can the weighing be accurate? Not that I'd prefer being weighed in a thong...😱

Hope things go well when you see the DSN and that you get a meter (and strips! 🙂)
