Hi
Introduced myself in September after my T2 diagnosis
Results then (15 Sept blood sample) were HbA1c of 101.
Just had the results of recent test.
New result (17 Nov blood sample) HbA1c is now 52
Pretty happy to have such good results after less than 2 months (I wasnt told for 10 days after first sample was taken and it took a few days to get BGs down after starting LC diet & meds)

I was prescribed Metformin 2 x 1000mg and Gliclazide 1 x 80mg at diagnosis
I have tried stopping Gliclazide 2 weeks ago for a week, then back up to a half-tab (40mg) last week as BG was creeping back up a little. BG back to good at the reduced dose.

Cholesterol also gone down (4.7 to 2.4)
No weight loss yet which is disappointing after a huge change in diet and a modest exercise increase.

Hi Jim - this is a marathon mate, not a sprint - and in comparison to the rest of your life - it's still very early days!

Bear with it, things will improve even more than they have in a couple of months.

Well done jim

Another update
Now have HBa1c of 37 🙂

Fantastic! Did you lose weight in the end on the low carb diet? I notice you said your weight had stayed the same initially.

Not a lot - maybe half a stone at best.
Plenty of scope though!

I am obviously in this for the long term, so no hurry.
At least I haven't had to buy new clothes yet!

Congratulations Jim, well done

Well done on the great results, Jim.😛:D😛

Half stone is good. I just go with Down is better than up!
Well done in any case.
