First timer on here

Hi and welcome.

Would you like to tell us a bit about your diabetes story?
Things like:-
How long you have been diagnosed and how that came about? ie Routine blood test or were you symptomatic and if so, which symptoms?
What if any medication do you use to treat your diabetes?
Do you know your most recent HbA1c result? This is the blood test used to diagnose and monitor your diabetes management over the years that follow. It will usually be a number n excess of 47mmols/mol if you have a full diagnosis. Many people find that they are only just over that threshold but occasionally people are much higher and sometimes into 3 figures if things are seriously amiss. How far over that red line of 48 that gets you a diagnosis kind of gives you an idea of how big your personal diabetes mountain is to conquer, but even if it is high, we have plenty of expert diabetes mountain climbers here who can share tips on how to achieve it and inspire you with stories of achieving remission and maintaining it.

Is there anything particular that has brought you to the forum? Perhaps information on food/diets/weight loss or exercise or just wanting to compare notes with others which can be a a great comfort in itself. We all know how overwhelming and sometimes isolating and frightening diabetes can be, so it is really helpful to know that there is a place you can come and air your worries where people have been in a similar situation and understand and can share what helped them through it.

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you better and ask away with any questions. The more info you can share with us about your diabetes, the more appropriately we can try to tailor our comments to your situation.
