THE FIRST pancreas transplant to take place on the island was a success, and the 29-year-old patient is now able to lead an insulin-free life, doctors said yesterday.
Dr Vassilis Hadjianastassiou who was part of a team of eight doctors involved in the pancreas and kidney transplant on June 8 said the patient went home yesterday.
