A novel class of blood glucose-lowering treatment for type 2 diabetes has launched in the UK after gaining European approval, offering GPs new treatment options.

Dapagliflozin (Forxiga) belongs to a new drug class called sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, which work by reducing the amount of glucose reabsorbed by the kidney.

Have copied the link you know where. (with acknowledgement)

Sounds promising.

Sounds good, but why are all the press stock photos of people having blood tests in the wrong part of the finger?

This is good for those people with type 2 diabetes, my grandad has it!

Hope this works out.

Interestingly, Jenny Ruhl posted a warning because it didn't get approved by the FDA due to possible links with liver damage and cancer 😱

I thought most of the non-insulin injections (Byetta, Victoza) were reputed to cause cancer and most diabetes treatments need liver function monitoring, so I wouldn't be surprised.
