well like the title says I am having my first drink since diagnosis, I am taking it easy and plan to check my BG during to make sure it doesn't go too low but I'm assuming since I'm not on medication that causes hypos I should be ok

so basically I just came on here both for some company and any advice anyone has for me

hope you are all having a great sunday

Hope you enjoy your drink. 🙂

Cheers!

Alcohol can raise and lower BG depending on what it is. I find that the day after is when the lows hit. And I am sure that’s why in even non Ds your hungry the next day as your levels drop.

well I can report it went fine, had a few drinks and my BG stayed pretty stable and have been fine today so all is good and I know I can enjoy a drink when I want one

Glad you enjoyed a wee tipple. It’s a great feeling when some food and beverages, harmful for some and generally not advised, turn out to be tolerable. Best to remember that moderation is king and not to get too confident or they can bite you on the bum when you don’t expect it.
