I have dropped 19points since being diagnosed with T2 two months ago and don’t want to do too much damage. I have my teenage granddaughter staying this weekend for her birthday treat and she has asked for an Itsu carry out meal. I was thinking for me to have Nagano valley miso soup and Chicken teriyaki on a bed, not eat all the rice. This will amount to around 70 carbs, I was advised by doctor to have 20 carbs per meal. Any advice on whether this will cause any problems and how best to eat round this special treat.

Well done on dropping 19 in 2 months @Jenni49 🙂 You deserve a treat. If you're doing low carb, this should be less than 130g carbs per day. What I do when I know there is a carby meal coming up is to make sure the other meals I eat that day contain hardly any carbs at all. One meal shouldn't do any harm. Enjoy!
