Hi Steve, hope your appointment goes well. It's hard to say what you might expect from it, as it seems to vary so much from person to person - hopefully you will get a knowledgeable, positive and friendly nurse who will give you good advice to clarify things for you and set you on the right path. It will be interesting to hear what advice you are given, so please let us know! 🙂

Great to hear that your wife is being so supportive, it will help you enormously - is she going to the appointment with you?

Hi Steve, I'm a newbie to having been diagnosed 3 weeks ago as type 2. I have been started on Metformin straight away as my symptoms were quite severe at the start, worst symptom was my eyesight was very blurred and I didn't feel safe to drive, also the sheer fatigue, I could have slept all day and night. Already I am feeling much better following advice I recieved from diabetic nurse but also from this site. I have changed my diet enormously and have already lost half a stone (need to loose a lot more), my eyes have begun to improve and I'm not quite as tired. The information you can gather on this site is realy good also on the Diabetes UK website which I was advised to check out by my nurse. It also helps to have a supportive partner and family.
Good luck with your app although by now you have probably had your app. Hope to hear how you got on.
