Getting so frustrated with the Libre 2, only had my prescription changed to them a couple of months ago, have used 7 and out of that as of today I'm on replacement number 5! 1 has fallen off, 1 has failed to even start, 1 read well for 8 days, started to read 7mmol lower than blood and then conked out completely, 1 lasted just shy of 24 hours before telling me to replace and the one I applied last night had issues releasing from the applicator, a few twists and wiggles freed it and was working well, 0.7mmol out from blood at breakfast time, scanned fine just after 8:30am and then the dreaded replace sensor message at 10:55am when I tried to scan again

In 2 years of using Libre 1 I only had 5 replacements and I've reached that with Libre 2 in 2 months, honestly getting sick fed up of it :( xx

How strange. I'd assumed that they were physically basically the same (so same applicator, same glue, etc.), but maybe that's not true and they made some "improvements"?

My experience of the two versions has been basically the same in terms of stickiness although I have found Libre 2 takes longer to bed in.
I am sorry your experience has not been the same @Kalyz. My fingers and toes are crossed that Scotland has just had a duff batch and you will be getting the "English version" soon. 🙂

Yikes, this must be so frustrating @Kaylz

Are you tempted to ask to switch back? Libre1 remains available, and I don’t think there’s any plan to discontinue before Libre3 becomes available.

OMG... I have been on Libre 1 until now, 2 x Libre 2 are waiting for me at the pharmacy! Pretty please I do not have a naff experience with them!

I had exactly the same problem with Dexcom. Frustration was the understatement of the year.
Oddly this year only had 4 really bad sensors. So fingers crossed things will improve for you and it's just a bad batch.

It would be interesting for everyone with bad sensors to compare the lot numbers.

It does seem really unlucky. We’ve others who have had nothing like the amount of trouble that poor @Kaylz has been subjected to :(

Hope you get a good one soon @Kaylz.

I hate it when people say “doesn’t happen to me…”. But to be positive and say it does work - honestly ! stick with it! I’ve put libre 2 sensor number 14 on tonight and I’ve had 2 issues with the 13 I’ve used. One with very frustrating alarms going off with my phone - I set it off with my reader now and use alarms on that and one that read wrongly. Hope the next one is a good one.

I have to say I’m starting to get a bit frustrated with the Libre 2 as well @Kaylz. Although I’ve had nothing like the problems you’ve been experiencing.

I’ve been using Libre 2 for a few months. I had 1 fall off after a week and 1 which gave me its first reading ok and then the next gave me a message to start new reader, however it’s the accuracy, or lack of, that really frustrates me.

I’m still a big fan of the system and do not expect it to be perfect, the Libre 1 wasn’t, but the readings for me were much more in line with finger pricking before. I was expecting the new version to be more accurate than the first (and was excited about the alarms), as that seemed to be the message we were getting, but for me I would have to say the vast majority of the time it seems to read 2.5-3 lower. As always though it’s the arrows that are useful. I had very few issues with the Libre 1 and was using it for about 4 years.

It’s interesting to read that the first version is still available. I just keep waiting to see if the next sensor is better.

Fingers crossed your luck changes soon...sounds like all the duff ones have been sent your way.

It really is!

I honestly don't know what to do, the 2 that have worked have been good and I feel safer with the benefit of the low alarm with not always being fully hypo aware and I can stop it going into a full blown hypo but after having so much trouble it's added stress that I could really do without at the moment xx

I have 2 Dexcom's to try out from the trial they were offering but they are still at Bruce's, I'm scared I get on too well with it lol as I wouldn't be able to self fund them, thanks I hope so too!

I never even thought and just binned everything as soon as it's applied so I don't have the lot numbers anymore xx

Thanks guys, it's just getting me really down xx
