I have always battered my left hand with my finger pricker! Ive probably done somewhere around 30,000 finger prick tests through the years on it. all fingers are ok, my forth and third get the brunt of it. I dont even bat an eye lid when doing it. But they are rather hard.

On the odd occasion when I think, lets give lefty a break and give righty a go, its like i have a mental block. Il shakily put the pricker up against my fingers and its like i cant physically press the button.

Anyone else get this?
Im not suffering emotionally from it or anything. I just went to do it today and thought, wow your quite weird.

I do. When I want to give lucy lefty a break I get someone else to do righty tighty for me

I change quite a lot between right and left hands, although mostly right (I'm left-handed) and always the third and fourth fingers. I must admit I've never had a problem using either hand. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that left-handers tend to be more used to using either hand when needed? I can use scissors in either hand. Can't use a bread knife in my right hand though! 🙂

I was fine still I started talking to Yow lot...!

Use both hands but I use forth and fifth fingers and I use both sides of those fingers too!

I was trying to work out if my little pinky was my 4th or 5th finger! 😉...so I use that one and the one to the left or right, depending on hand! 🙂

I use index, middle and ring fingers on my left hand (or fingers 1 2 and 3 if you prefer), and it's mainly because I use the Accu-Check Mobile and unless I remove the pricker it's quite awkward for me as a right hander to use with my left hand. Very occasionally I will give the right hand a go, but because it's so rare it's more painful than the left which is now quite hardened to the pricking!

I was told not to use my index finger or thumb, as you can lose sensitivity and these are most important for your manual dexterity. Why not use your little finger? That's my main one 🙂

Umm, might give the little finger a go!!

Funny, just been thinking the same thing...looking at my lefty fingers and thinking they could do with a break. Haven't tried my right hand yet, will maybe give it a go later and see if I get the same problem!
