Hi All,
Im in Lanzarote, Spain, at the moment and getting low on my usual dextro energy tablets.
Anyone know where i can buy some on the island (google not helping) or a suitable alternative?
Thanks in advance

Try any pharmacy, most speak english. Worth a try. I'll be there in 19 days.

Any high glucose syrup confectionery would be fine (Jelly Babies, Skittles etc... or some local alternative!).

Just make sure it doesn't have fat in it, which would slow down the absorption of the carbs.

Alternatively full-sugar coke is very speedy.

Enjoy your holiday!

How about lowering your insulin as well as using ordinary sweets or coke for hypos?

Thanks for the speedy responses everyone.
I never considered "normal" sweets (didnt think any of them would be quick-acting enough) so ill try jellybabies or similar. I've used coke before when there's a shop close by, but i want something i can easily just stick in a pocket when i am out and about.

Haribo jelly babies are not marketed in Spain but there are some reasonable alternatives. If you have a Dia supermarket near you then there are sweets named Frutissimo which will do the job. Alternatively they stock sweets called Lagrimon which, though somewhat gelatinous, will also suffice. Enjoy your holiday.

Juice boxes which a supermarket may supply may be a good alternative to glucose tablets.

Sugar cubes? Enjoy your holiday! 😎
