Hi Charlotte - well - we all have different emotions to deal with after diagnosis so actually you are perfectly normal feeling resentful.

Can you have a logical conversation with yourself - and ask yourself what good it can possibly do you, being so angry? The answer is f course - it can't do you any good whatsoever, can it? You'll still have D and have to deal with it every flippin day whether you are angry or not, won't you?

So then - ask yourself why the hell you are wasting your time and energy on being angry - when it wouldn't take half as much effort to shrug your shoulders, Say oh well, sheet happens to the nicest people! - and get on with your life!

Of course all the c**p feelings won't disappear overnight - but if you are determined to give em up - persevere - they'll reduce at first and you'll eventually cease to do it to yourself.

Hi Charlotte
I too found that I got very fed up with my Diabetes, and ended up very depressed. I had sailed through 10 years and then it hit me, and I was surprised how common this is.

I have come out the other side and included in here the strategies that I worked on with a counsellor which proved very useful. I know that others manage to include a hyperlink but I have no idea how, so if anyone is able to do this for me that would be great. It is has the snappy title of
Successfully strategies so far in dealing with depression and diabetes.
If you use the search box it comes up.

I hope this is of some help.

I have finally decided to join.
I hope I can share how having type 1 diabetes makes me feel sometimes and help me to get rid of this built up angry and emotion I have inside me.

xxx

Hi Charlotte24, welcome to the forum. Hopefully you can pick up some good tips here, and find it a good place to rant if you need to.
