Hi

Over the last couple of days I have felt a little odd, nothing major - just not with it - if I look for description I am going to say that I did not feel quiet lucid! Possibly as if I had had ? a glass of cider on an empty stomach! but that would only last a couple of hours at the most. Is this a diabetic something or what?
this feeling includes this morning.

What are your blood sugar levels like when you feel like this? That's the easiest way of seeing if it might relate to your diabetes and blood sugar control.

blood sugar levels

Hi

Over the last week in the morning before breakfast has been between 6.2 and 7.2

1 hour after breakfast 8.4 to 10.5
2 hour after breakfast 7.4 to 8.7

Breakfast has included Toast and a poached egg
Bacon sandwich
Scotts porrage oats
Banana and 1 weetabix

Next week I am not working so was intending to test more for that week.

Regards Andrew

Your levels look quite reasonable. If it is only the past couple of days that you have experienced this then it might be worth a visit to the doctors to see if they have any thoughts (although some will simply blame the diabetes). I can feel similar, but usually when my levels are low or I am hungry, but no doubt there are many things that can cause the symptom besides diabetes - perhaps it's an early indication of a cold or infection?

Could it be lack of decent sleep Andrew ?

I get a bit spaced after a few disturbed nights.🙂

I get this too Andrew - just like you are describing. Have had it when I have gone too long for a meal and I feel like I am reeling, uncoordinated and find difficulty in speaking properly. After eating and drinking (non-alcohol) I gradually start to feel better, but it has happened to me a few times.

If I am high, always after eating too many carbs, I get sleepy and can hardly stay awake.

Sleep

Hi Thanks for that one I have had a few bad nights over the last week.
so that is possible.

If I take that kind of thing to my doctor he blames the diabetes or a virus with no other investigation or questions. I try and make sure I have had enough sleep (been known to go to bet at 7pm amd sleep through till 7am) and then I feel better.
