Hi @Jodie4eva, welcome to the forum 🙂 Sorry to hear about your diagnosis - how did it come about? Did you have these pains prior to your diagnosis? Are you on any medication for your diabetes, and have you taken any other steps to try and bring your blood sugar levels under control? If it's something that has started happening after your diagnosis then it's possible that it is something called 'transient neuropathy' - I suffered from this after my diagnosis as my levels improved, particularly at night, and it is caused by the body's nerves becoming more accustomed to the better blood sugar levels after a period of being high. Eventually, as my control became steadier, the pain subsided. As @Copepod says, however, you do need to see your doctor or nurse to discuss your concerns.hey all so I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and I am suffering extreme pain in my feet which sometimes goes into my leg. I was wondering if anyone else is/has suffered with this and if so how did u treat it?
Thanks in advance
Can you get an on the day appointment, it may be called something different at you're practice this is for things that suddenly crop up and need checking quickly, you usually have to phone up as soon as they open.Thank you all for your advice. I know I need to see doctor but when I asked the other day said they don't have appointments for weeks grr. So I take metformin for my diabetes and I don't remember having pains before I was just wondering if anyone had experienced anything like it
Severe pain is an emergency, so that's what you need to say when you phone to request an emergency / urgent appointment.Thank you all for your advice. I know I need to see doctor but when I asked the other day said they don't have appointments for weeks grr. So I take metformin for my diabetes and I don't remember having pains before I was just wondering if anyone had experienced anything like it
