Well, yes, that does happen, but it's not the whole picture. Neuropathy can be very painful. Just imagine sitting awkwardly, so you restrict your circulation and lose feeling in one of your limbs, when you stand up the circulation starts again and you have pins and needles, that's the nerves regenerating when circulation restores oxygen to the nerves. This is a similar process to neuropathy when BGs are brought down and circulation improves. Except it can be a lot more painful than pins and needles.My understanding is that with neuropathy, you loose sensation, hence the stories of people walking about with drawing pins or nails in their feet and being unaware of it.
