It's not my week. Bad stomach in the night. Bad 4am hypo which has bounded up to 16 - and now feeling too sick to go to work - which is not good at all because of the amount of time that I've had off ill in the last year. Feeling completely fed up

Oh Amanda, so sorry to hear this :( Please don't beat yourself up, no-one tries harder than you to keep on top of things - I hope that you feel better as the day progresses and feel much stronger tomorrow {{{Amanda}}}

I hope you are feeling better now. Upset tummies are the pits at any time but are worse in the night.

If it happens again, are you allowed to work from home?

hi Caroline

I can often work at home but not on days when I have teaching and meetings - which is today and tomorrow

Have just spoken to NHS Direct - they want me to see a a doctor within two hours but I can't get a GP appointment until 2pm . But I feel too nauseous to leave the house so have arranged a phone appointment with the GP

Hope your GP is able to help. Have got any one who can go to chemists and things for you?

GP has just phoned and prescribed an anti-emetic. OH has just gone to collectitbut he is very frustrated with me because he has to prepare for a 10am meeting. She will also check for a urine infection. If I don't feel better I am to go to see the GP. She isn't sure whether it is a bug or the gastroparesis. I just hope it isn't the gastroparesis because that would affect work and shatter all of the dreams and plans we have. Sorry just feeling really tearful. This was meant to be a good year for us.

Sorry to hear you are having a rough time Amanda. Hope you feel better soon

Hope you are feeling better soon x

Hi Amanda.

Does stress affect your digestion?

With all the pressure you've been under recently, I wondered if you've triggered something by pushing yourself too hard.

I hope it clears up very soon. Try not to bully yourself. There's enough out there who are willing to do that. Just accept what's happening and take it one step at a time. Easy said I know. 🙂

Rob

Rob that hit such a chord with me. I often beat myself up when I am ill, feel guilty for being off and try and fight it, instead of just accepting things and giving myself the time I need to get better.

Amanda you are going through a really tough time, things always seem bleakest when you are feeling at such a low ebb. Take things easy and try to look after yourself - sending you a really big hug. X

I am so sorry that you are feeling so low - I can feel how upset you are in your last post.

I am sure that OH will apologise later - as the understanding that you are ill will kick in that you weren't deliberatly trying to sabotage meeting prep.

I hope that this turns out to be a bug - have you made any progress in tracking down a pumping team?

I hope that you feel better soon.

Aj, first off big, big hug!! ((((()))))) Sorry to hear you're not feeling well, it sometimes feels like one thing after another doesnt it. :( I know how you feel about work & your OH (i was on eggshells by the end of those 2 weeks post op when my OH had to do everything - not fun at all!)... but i bet the main reason he's frazzled is that he's worried about you. As for work, if your boss had just an ounce of sense between their ears, they'll recognise that you are going through a bit of a blip but are a trooper, well worth keeping hold of & allowing to develop & grow! I really hope you're feeling better very soon in every way. Xxx

Oh Amanda :( It sounds like you're really going through it...even with just the hypo and the rebound is bad enough (I had the exact same thing last night, & when i woke up to 16.4, the last thing I wanted to do was get out of bed and come to work). But it doesn't sound like you are too well on top of that as well :(

I hope the meds your doc has prescribed do the trick and have you feeling back to your normal self in no time.

And it's ok to feel fed up, frustrated and tearful - sometimes it's just all too much at the wrong time.

Big hugs.

I am really sorry to hear you are having such a hard time, I hope you feel better after taking the anti-emetics. You are an inspiration with all that you deal with and how you take it all, thank you so much for your help to me over the past week. Take care.

Aaawww I am so sorry to hear that, I just don't know how to help, is there something that you can think of, a positive image or person or thought, that might help? Warmest wishes to you Sheena X

Thank you everyone. The new tablets are working but have made me drowsy. fingers crossed that I will still feel well when I stop taking them. Also just found out that HBA1C has gone up from 7.1 to 65 (8?) I think my body hates me. Sorry for being so down.

If it's any consolation, my body hated me too, especially above the neck😛 Don't be sorry, everyone feels bad from time to time

I wish you all the colours of the rainbow..............except blue X Sheena

Thank you Sheena x. My office colleague had asked how I was and told my OH that my smiling face cheers him up on Wednesdays. that made me smile

No need to apologise!! We all have down days, & you've had a heck of a lot to deal with recently! We're here for you, you give so much support to us on this forum, maybe it's time for us to return the favour for a little bit? 🙂 Big hugs again, hoping you get a really good night's sleep & feel much, much better in the morning. xxx
