had eggs and bacon for breakfast today, maybe about 10 am, nothing since except a cup of tea- lactose free milk, meltodextrin free sweetener, i still have oedema, my legs just ache and i feel exhausted, nauseous and my eyes are becoming crossed, ketones are 0.4, sugars 5.6mmol, you'd think i'd be happy right... i always feel dreadfully ill when my sugars are down here

I found that if I eat about 10 gm of carbs along with whatever I have for breakfast that seems to be just right for me. I then go along happily all day and have up to 30 gm of carbs in the evening - and that, other than a couple of mugs off coffee with cream is all I need.
I do avoid sweeteners as they seem to put things out of balance somehow.
Lactose free milk is not necessarily a low carb option, the combination with the sweetener might be making you queasy.
