Hi everyone not been on much lately been going through a real rough patch to be honest. I have hit rock bottom and didn't know which way to turn. Lost interest in everyday things. I am doing ok with my numbers but just stress of everyday life worrying family times and all gets to much this week been the worse one yet for me just keep breaking down crying and asked for help yesterday nurse said to me I should have had the help sooner for trauma I went through. i now suffer anxiety which is taking over my life and making me feel so low just don't know what to do been given tablets to help with my anxiety just don't know if should take them to help if they will help? Lou

Sorry you’re having such a rough time. Try the tablets. If it’s something like propanalol then it’s fairly quick to see a difference and will just take the edge off.

Really sorry you are having such a tough time @louloulou - well done for reaching out to your nurse for help, that takes real courage.

You clearly want to feel better, and I hope with some good support and the right meds you can find your way back to yourself.

You are important, and you are worth whatever it takes to get well.

Just take it one small step at a time, and never worry about sharing your struggles here - we are here for you.

Sorry for you feeling so low Lou, but am impressed that you asked for help, too many do not. It is a shame you have just been offered meds, unless I am misunderstanding, there are alterantives, but too often they treat symptoms, not the causes. ( Which comes from a psychiatric nurse I used to know. :( )

Even though it is only meds you have got, I hope they have an effect and sincerely hope you are feeling more yourself soon. 🙂

Oh my goodness that sounds grim; I'm so glad that you have asked for help, that you are posting and that you are still looking for ways to improve things. It sounds as though you are pushing, pushing to find a way to feel better, which sounds exhausting, but keep going. my Dad would have said that the darkest hour is just before the dawn.

Nothing else to say really, except that I hope things get better. Inadequate words, but cheering you on.

Well done asking for help from your nurse as I know it is not an easy thing to do and putting it on here. Life can get very overwhelming at times. I hope things turn a corner and start to improve for you and your family.

Hi Lou how are you today? I`m just catching up with the forum after a day out and missed your post. How brave of you to seek help not always easy, we are here to help and you can discuss any topic you like it doesn`t have to be about Diabetes but only if you wish. Kind words from all posts and I know of some members on the forum who have been in your position including this thread. As @Anitram has said the NHS has a lot of information include a video.

Hope you had a lovely day out

I’m also sorry to hear you’ve been having a rough time. I’m sure talking to and sharing your feelings with the nurse is a good start...I think everyone tends to bottle things up and then there’s a point where you can do it no more. I really hope things turn a corner and pick up for you really soon. X
