The past few nights around 9:30ish I've started to become really thirsty, dry mouth etc so I'm always convinced I'm going to be high at bedtime, I go and pot my breakfast up, go to the toilet, wash and dry my hands really expecting to see a high number then when I've tested I've been 7.4 and 7.2 hmmm obviously just thirsty then lol x

Well maybe you just get dehydrated about 9.30pm? And, why don't you just test THEN and see what's happening? Spike from your evening meal?

Oh I have tested then too when it's happened but it's in the 7's then too x

It sounds as if you might just be a bit dehydrated.
Mind you I do have a theory that when my numbers have been behaving themselves for a couple of days I am more sensitive to raised numbers and feel uncomfortable if they stay above 8 for any length of time. It's just a hunch though, I haven't been in a position to test it properly because it's so rare for my levels to be that stable!
