My bg have been high all day. I am really hoping this is due to still not being fully over this chest infection.

waking; 13
post breakfast: 14.8 (natural yogurt and berries)
pre lunch: 14
post lunch: 13.7 (chicken, & salad) plus 30 mins walk
pre dinner: 9.7 (about 1 above normal, but 51/2hr since last eaten)

I just feel frustrated as it seems no matter what I have done today it has stayed high, all higher then last night. I could honestly cry, sat here watching hubby eating a large bag of M&Ms and bg goes stupid on yogurt and chicken.

Sorry to hear this Lorraine, it must be so frustrating and upsetting for you. Are you on any medication for your chest infection that could explain these higher levels? What are your normal daily levels?

(((Hugs))) days like that are very frustrating, I'm guessing it must be the chest infection rather than the food you've eaten. I hope you feel better soon and your D starts behaving.

Don't worry Lorraine, it is almost certainly the infection doing this, so just sit it out until the infection, and medication, has finished. I'm sure it will settle down.

Oh, before I go, shoot your husband. No jury in the land would convict you. M&Ms indeed😡

Not on any medication for chest infection. Usual is around 10 on waking, and 8's by evening, and hovering between the figures during the day pre and post eating. I am really hoping it is the infection, and not that I need more medication.

I think it is worst that after 3 months hubby still doesn't get it and when I was getting upset asked it I wanted pizza.

It's a shame your husband isn't more supportive, my OH eats any treats at work. As for offering you pizza when you're upset....you could always follow Mikes advice....

Thank you all. I am hoping to get to the gym next week so may make a difference, since I joined 2 weeks ago I have had this infection.

Bless ya x it is frustrating when the numbers do not behave but it is probs the infection love. As for the m&M's I feel your pain x lol x my daughter is the same and sometimes I don't mind and sometimes it gives me the right hump x lol

There are days when it goes like that. I hope you are feeling better

I had high numbers when I had a urine infection and fighting some sort of virus last month.

Final reading of the day 2 hrs after evening meal is 10.5, so less than a rise of 1 for chicken broccoli and green beans. I think I need to find some more exciting recipes. Thanks for your support I am feeling less frustrated now.

Feeling your frustration Lorraine im in the same boat I'm struggling still and insulin gone up from 10 to 20 units still struggling grr. X hang in there

Hang on in there Grannylorraine, my blood sugar has been all over the shop recently because I seem to be brewing the Mancunian flu. I sound like Phylis Pearce at the moment 😱. Your blood sugar is most likely high because your immune system is working on full power to try and clear up that infection, so it's nothing to do with food or anything you've done or not done. I know that doesn't help much but your body needs that extra energy to clear thing up, it's just struggling to use it, fingers crossed it passes soon. Have you got this delightful seal bark of a cough that seems to be everywhere at the moment? My office sounds like the seal enclosure at Chester Zoo, one starts then it's like a chain reaction, the rest of us sound like squeaky toys 🙄

Hope your chest infection clears up soon. If you want recipe ideas, check out the recipe section in the food queries forum.

Hi Lorraine,
How have the blood sugars been today x

Thank you for asking. Still higher than I would like, but slightly lower than yesterday, not coughing so much, so hoping I have turned a corner with this chest infection.

Hope so Lorraine.

:D

Lorraine the gym sounds a bit drastic especially if you're feeling off, what about a nice gentle walk? It's about all I could manage at the moment, I can't stop sneezing. Hope you feel much better asap.

That's good, lets hope the chest infection is about to leave the building. Hope you start to feel much better soon 🙂

Thank you all, had a good nights sleep and feeling much better today.
