Another restless night followed by a decent waking BS of 4.7 thought things would be ok how wrong I was. 😡

Two hours after my normal breakfast feeling funny or worse, instantly thought I am hypo, checked my levels and they were 10.7 😱, should of been in the 7.0's at the most. 😡

Found the old blood pressure monitor, yikes 151 / 94 no wonder I am feeling rubbish. settled down to a nice cuppa tea.

Went and did a quick bit of shopping and some kids from hell were playing games in the shop, screaming their heads off with the pitch that gets right into the head (or that's what it felt like).

Got home and got talking to some friends nice and relaxed again, another cuppa of tea, then later on another cuppa tea and a bite to eat and blood pressure was 136 / 98 grrrrrrrr, though BS was back to a more normal 4.3 just before the bite to eat.

Well and truly brassed off. 😡

Sorry to hear that your BP has been a bit elevated today. I don't know what your usual BP is but I take it that your readings today are way off the mark. I find The whole BP reading thing very frustrating as it varies so much throughout the day and is very dependant on how we feel, how stressed we are etc etc. and for some reason it tends to go up when we're about to take it and really want it to go down. Why don't you leave it for today and take it again first thing tomorrow morning before you get out of bed ? Perhaps if you try not to think about it too much it will behave 🙂
My BP readings at home range from 100 / 55 to 125 / 75 but I tend to freak out when it gets taken at the hospital and and sometimes my readings are around 145 / 85 !
As far as I'm concerned its a very difficult thing to measure because its so easily influenced by so many variables. Well done for keeping your BGs within A good range though, and give the BP a go tomorrow morning 🙂

Gave up with the Blood pressure monitor readings are to erratic, will have to wait until the next check-up. The docs won't introduce a replacement BP med until the old one is flushed out of the system.

My BS is on the way up today already, 5.5 this morning, (should be around 4.4) now 2 hours after breakfast its 9.9 :(, normally should be a max of the 7.0's. 😡

Maybe your doctor can lend you a 24 hour BP recording machine so you can get a view of what happens throughout the day and night.

If it would help pav you can borrow my Blood pressure monitor? could have it to you by Tuesday, it's the same one my doctor uses OMRON M10-IT
You can borrow it for as long as you need to? 🙂

Thanks for the great offer, 🙂 🙂 first will pop down to the docs on Tues as they have a machine in the waiting area, will try it and hope don't get the white coat syndrome. Think as its in full view of everyone people get nervous that every one is watching you.

Though if BS continues to rise might need the doc anyway, seams to follow a pattern with the meds. They work for a good few weeks then its as some one is turning the dimmer switch down and need another nudge.

That's the thing your bp can go up when in that environment, like I say the offer is there and at least you could monitor yourself in peace.
Just let me no and can have it in the post for you. 🙂

I was told that the home BP monitors can lose their accuracy in time - if yours was an old one that you hadn't used for a while, this may be what had happened.

Alan its a very old meter, probably as ancient as my old BS meters.

Just a guess but your BP may be a result of your exasperation at your first BG test and then additional tension at having a high BP.

I regularly measure both but, if I was expecting on BG result and got something considerably higher, I'd check a couple more fingers first. I am sure the shock of the first unexpected result will set your BP higher. I never take my BP if I am feeling a bit on edge about something.

I did have a week or so of much higher BP than I am used to but it turned out to be because of the ibuprofen that I was taking. I had a lot of pain from arthritis. took ibuproen regularly and, when I stopped, my BP remained high. It fell slowly over the following days and returned to normal. But, it was good to know that something as simple as an over the counter pain killer would do that.

Interesting.....I regularly take ibuprofen due to my knee ( repetitive knee injury from work ) and am on ramipril for high bp
