I have been a type I for 28 years and been using a pump for the last 10+ years. In February I was running low on cannulas and the warranty on my pump was about to expire. I contacted the hospital and they ordered a resupply and gave me an appointment for a new pump. By mid March I hadn't received the cannulas so I contacted Medtronic (pump supplier) and they said nothing was ordered. I contacted the hospital and they said they were ordered. Then the lock down started. I had to get a emergency prescription for long acting insulin. I currently work in a supermarket and I joined the night shift to help with social distancing. I received a letter from the hospital telling me not to contact them and all my appointments were cancelled. I'm now struggling to get any control as I am unsure on how much long acting insulin to take. I have been having several hypos a day (usually on work days) and I have experienced bleeding in one of my eyes as I've also had my eye treatment cancelled. Does anyone have any idea when hospitals will consider treating diabetes again and when will the supply company start to resupply again?
