Feeling a bit smug right now

So I just got back after a pretty stressful day (good fun, but stressful). I was toying with the idea of going and getting a fried fish from the local chip shop. I've had one before a month or so back and it doesn't nuke my BG if I don't have it with anything else.

But then I caught myself and figured I'd have my planned beefburgers + veg.

Felt good rewarding myself mentally to just realize that I'd changed enough to make that kind of choice. I know it sounds smug, but I think its important to recognize good behaviour in myself and think that feeling good about it will maybe help reinforce that good behaviour.

It's not often I catch myself like this, so though I'd share. Do you guys have those moments where you recognize changes in yourself?

I was told off for envisioning 'The Smug Club' for those who had achieved control of their everything.
I do however indulge in fish from the fish and chip shop - but I remove the batter.
