Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
I don’t know what to do. Have been feeling rough for the last couple of weeks and don’t know whether it’s the diabetes or not. Have a constant headache and tummy pain it feels as though I’m hungry but I’m not have lost appetite. My blood sugars have come down from 16-19 to7-9 and I just feel weird all the time. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Hi @Fifi240 and sorry you aren't feeling well. What medication are you on, and for how long? Just thinking that if you're on metformin, it doesn't agree with everyone and can cause tummy upsets and pain as well as other symptoms which can vary from person to person. Have you brought your blood sugar down very quickly? I believe that can sometime cause issues. I'd advise getting in touch with your doctor. Whether it's the diabetes or something else, you need to discuss it with someone medically qualified.

@Fifi240 you mention your blood sugars have come down recently. We’re they elevated for a long time? If so, your body would have got used to the high numbers and you may be experiencing false hypos as you are not used to the lower numbers.

On the other hand, as others have said, we can’t blame diabetes for everything. Probably a good idea to talk to a doctor. Hopefully, you can get a telephone appointment.

I believe you are on Ozempic and from what I have read that can make you feel rotten. If you are on more than the starting dose it might be worth discussing with your HCP about reducing the dose and staying on the starting dose for longer before increasing it to give your body more time to learn to cope with it.

Sorry to hear you are feeling rotten @Fifi240

Does sound like you need to have a chat with your GP to discuss your symptoms with them.

Let us know how you get on 🙂
