Fed Up!

Having finished the antibiotics yesterday I had hoped to enjoy my supper but no I was hot by indeigestion and wind again just like the past week. It's been every evening. So I reduced my insulimn anf just had a cuppa and a slice of wholemeal toast with with a scrape of NAS marmalade. . Waiting for the Mexican GP qualifying (why cannot Perallki make a decednt wet weather tyrefor goodness sake!) the Phantom Pain started up. I thpoight 2 x Paracetamol had settled it and went to bed about 11:30. Two hours later I woke in agony (feels like whole lower leg is in a crusher) and at 3.4!

I am pig sick of this - it feels like existing not living. The annoying thing is I was feeling more positive after talking with someone whose friend lost his leg below the hip when he was T-boned by a car. He is now back biking on a 1300cc automatic motorcycle. Interestingly he uses crutches to get around as I did when I broke my leg but in this round the physios do not even want me to try them!

I'm so sorry that you go through this awful pain and can't imagine what it must be like for you. I have no idea if this will help, but I was at the chiropractor the other day and asked her about whether chiropractic (particularly McTimoney) could help someone with your phantom pain because she had mentioned how McTimoney chiropractic is very involved with the nervous system and mentioned that nerves go through tiny spaces in the body so if something is out of line the smallest tweak can make a big difference. She said she thought that it would be worth investigating but I'm really not sure whether it's something you could get on referral or not.

Are you able to take anything for your indigestion which is compatible with your other medications, like Gaviscon, ranitidine, Pepcid AC or Omeprazole which are usually quite successful at easing it.

I am already on Lansoprazole for stomach protection so crossing my fingers it improves as I get further away from the antibiotics! (fingers crossed emoji)

Really sorry to hear how cheesed off you are Mikey but can totally understand and empathize and you have every right to be fed up. Sending more (((HUGS)))

Why won't they let you use crutches? Is it the physio or podiatry? It would enable you to do more exercise with your poorly foot which would surely help to stimulate blood flow and that can only help the healing process. Have you considered going against advice and getting some crutches? After all, you are not making progress with your foot following their advice. Sometimes you have to just do what you feel is right for you, but only you will know what you feel.

I did this when I changed my diet and started going low carb and then eating more fat. I am sure now that it was the right thing to do for me, but I felt really guilty going against the low fat advice my nurse was giving me.

Must confess I have been hitting the Rennies recently. No idea why, but hopefully it will settle for us both. At least you have an excuse. It will take time for your gut to recover from the Antibs and probiotics might be worth a try or fermented foods like kimchi and sauerkraut or kefir.

Really sorry to read what a tough time you are having @MikeyBikey :care:

Hopefully the ABs will have done the trick, and your tum will settle down and give you a bit of a breather.

You really are going through the mill Mikey and I feel really sorry for you.
I don't blame you feeling fed up. I would be the same. I doubt I could put up with half of what you have had to endure.

Hey @MikeyBikey
How are you this evening, hoping you are feeling a bit more upbeat ?

Alan 😉
