NHS plans to outsource some services to pharmacies will hit Cheddar Medical Centre.
In a meeting with Wells MP Tessa Munt, the medical centre’s patient participation group (PPG) said plans to outsource treatment, could put the village practice under financial strain.
Chairman of the PPG John Pimblott told Tuesday night’s Cheddar Parish Council meeting about the group’s fears – and was met with shock and concern by those present.
Sedgemoor District Councillor, Dawn Hill, said: “If I thought for one second that the medical centre was under threat, I’d be rattling cages.”
Mr Pimblott, said: “There is a minor threat to the surgery at the moment as things become outsourced to other places.
