Blood pressure 125/75:D Consultant thinks that an insulin pump is an excellent idea for me. He did warn me that the funding situation is very difficult but he thinks that I need the pump. I have to do a DAFNE course in early July (no debate it has to be done) and he is going to email the pump nurses to ask them to contact me. I'm really excited:D He has warned me though that the funding is a problem with our PCT so I won't get too excited

Brilliant news Amanda! 🙂 As far as I know if the Consultant says you need a pump then the PCT has to fund it, so fingers crossed! 🙂

Great BP too!

Excellent news Amanda :D

Will watch your progress with interest. Fingers crossed the funding is sorted really soon.

Great news Amanda! And great if your consultant agrees. It should mean you will get one, but it may mean you have to wait...my DSNs only take on 2 new pump patients a month (I think...something like that) as they just don't have the resources to cope with helping anymore than that through the process. Which I think is a good thing in a way.

Keeping everything crossed for you!

Fantastic news!! Fingers crossed the funding process goes smoothly & swiftly! 🙂

Wow that's great news! Hopefully you will be up and pumping fairly soon! 🙂

I'm so glad the appointment went well for you and hope they can find funding for the pump quickly. Great news about the BP too.

Fantastic! Really pleased that the appointment went well for you. 🙂

Great News!

Hope you manage to get what you need very soon (searches in vain for 'fingers crossed' smilie - makes do with:D )

Amanda pleased the appt went well great news

So pleased for you - it was about time you had some good news - long may that continue.

Great news Amanda. I don't think you need to do DAFNE either. Just demonstrate carb counting, but if you're happy to do it, then it's not a bad thing I'm sure.

If you do have difficulty, even with the consultant's backing, you can contact INPUT to advise.🙂
