A MELTON family is going the extra mile to raise awareness of diabetes and raise funds towards research into the condition.
The Scoble family, of Lambert Close, will be among those taking part in a sponsored walk in Melton Country Park on June 17 to support the work of Diabetes UK.
Striding out will be mum Rebecca, dad Simon and their children Katie, Jack and Sam. Four-year-old Sam was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes just before Christmas.
Rebecca said: ?We were very lucky in as much that Sam go diagnosed very quickly but since then our lives have been turned upside down. I wouldn?t wish it on my worst enemy.
?Sam is the bravest boy you?ve ever met. He has at least four injections a day but he doesn?t mind.?
