Hello, i need some help if any one can.

I got called into an office and given a verbal warning today for falling asleep in a meeting, three meetings in fact, and i'm battling to stay awake at my desk too.

It's normally about 11ish it starts to happen, checked my bloods and they are all in the 5-6.5 mmol range, i only take a bit of metformin in the morning and i eat branflakes / brown toast at breakfast.

is this something i should hassle my diabetes nurses with?

It's unusual if your levels are normal. Might there be some other factor - are you sleeping OK at night? How long have you had the tiredness at this time? Going on your introductory thread about how you're not sure of your type, there's a possibility (I think - others may be able to confirm!) that it might be thyroid-related, as thyroid problems often go hand-in-hand with diabetes. Certainly something to talk to your doctor about if there's no obvious explanation (Like perhaps the crushing boredom of the meetings! 😉)

i sleep like a log, seriously, 8 or 9 hours a night and even extra nap times at the weekend

but just recently, i have been having sort-of-hypos in the night, waking up sweaty and feeling a bit "wrong" if you get my meaning

The only time I fell asleep at Uni - I was soon after diagnosed with glandular fever. Have you had any throat problems lately? Might be worth just getting it ruled out if you are going to have some bloods done anyway.🙂

Or - were the meetings just boring or the room stuffy? I have had many of those myself where the matchsticks were needed.:D

Have you actually been able to test your levels after one of your sweaty episodes?

Another possibility is something to do with the liver? Don't read too much on the internet though .... you'll start to panic! 😱

Andy 🙂

Id get to the Drs if i was you just to check. And they can get work off your back. If its health related they cant give you a warning surley?

Hope you find out what it is xx
