Falling asleep after lunch

@sololite do you pre-bolus (inject your NovoRapid before you eat)?
Different foods are ingested and release their glucose at different rate and injected insulin may start reacting at different rates at different times of the day (typically we are more insulin resistant in the morning).
Ideally, we should be able to time the injection to match the food ingestion time to minimise the high ... and sleepiness.
The usual advice is to inject 15 to 20 minutes before eating to achieve this but some of us find we need to inject earlier.
 
Hi Helli, thanks for taking an interest. I do inject 15 mins before meals. I use the same ratio of 1 unit Novorapid for each 10g of carb. Clearly some carbs send me higher and quicker than others (pasta, rice ) but I haven't experimented with adjusting the timing of the injection.
