I cant believe what I have done in the last hour, eaten fish and chips and three, yes three chocolate bars. I feel sick in more ways than one and have a BG of 22 and probably rising. Had 10 units when my intention was to eat a sensible meal an hour ago before the blow out, not quite sure what to do next other than just give up.

Simple solution would be to calculate how many extra carbs you have eaten then cover it with insulin.

NO NO NO!!!! Dont give up...you have to keep perspective..its not great to eat 3 bars of chocolate but its done now and beating yourself with a big stick will only make you eat another 3....take a deep breath and see tomorrow as another day...dont let 1 slip be that awful moment when you decide to give up and wonder why your making all this effort. Believe me i have SSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOO been there...many many times...x

dont beat yourself up, do take extra calculated insulin, i have times when i totally pig out but make sure it is covered with the insulin dose, hugs, dont give up,

Thank you all, had a good cry, pulled myself together a bit but so new to Humalog, scared of it still and not confident with how to correct. BG down to 15 so going to take HumilinI and going to bed.

glad you feelin a bit better and that your sugar has started to come down, it is daunting when new to insulin, i remember that well, you will get to know what works over time 🙂
