Do we have a facebbok group? 😎

Hope your all well. My sugars are leaps and bounds better now calculating my carbs properly and using the aviva expert. Hypo-ing quite a lot but reducing my daytime background dose by a unit a day until these stops. my morning sugars are much improved since doing my levemere later in the evening as per the advice on got on here last week :D

There is a couple of facebook pages; there is one for this forum but I think it has fallen into dis-use. There is also a facebook page for the DiDKA (Diet Drinks Awareness) group.

There is also a interest page to like for everydayupsanddowns I think too.

THer is also a thread here for those of us who are willing to friend/be-friended: http://www.diabetessupport.co.uk/boards/showthread.php?t=17688&highlight=facebook

As mentioned, there is a forum FB page, but it was set up by my predecessor and I don't have any control over it. Anyway, who needs FB - you've got the forum! 😉

I think there are some key differences between how (for example) the Diabetes UK FB page works and the way the forum works. Because the discussions are rarely used on FB - people just tend to post on the Wall - it's difficult to keep track of anything more than a few messages long, plus of course they are only really 'visible' for a short period of time depending on how busy the page is. On the forum you have the opportunity to post a question and it will always be there - people with different experiences will still be able to add their posts there. Similarly, you can search for keywords if there is something in particular you are looking for. Another key difference I have found is that you have a bit more background about a member - their type, length of diagnosis, any medications etc. included in their signature or bio - which can be important when responding. You can also be anonymous on the forum if you wish - you can on FB too, but it means setting up and logging in to different accounts.
