Ezitimbre query

Dear all,

I am confused. I am nearly theee months taking Ezitimbe without Statin and am due my three month blood test to see what Ezi has (or not) done re lowering Cholestrol. I spoke with a pharmacist who told me not to bother with total Cholestrol number but only with non hdl number. This is the complete opposite to the HCP at my surgery. Can anyone advise me?

I’d look at both/all numbers personally

It would likely be the lipid panel that would be on your blood test request form and that would normally be fasting. If it is not there would be no comparison to your previous test which would obviously be useful.

Not fasting, always told not to fast.
Think I will stick with my usual routine check TC and non hdl.

You might find some helpful pointers in the links in this thread about NHS England lipid management guidelines

TC and non-HDL seem to be given more focus than ratios of various components

Thank you, from my discussion with very helpful pharmacist it seems to me that he was using the same nhs guidelines. All will be revealed after blood test.
