Diagnosed last year with Type 2. I was placed on Metformin x 3 500mg tabs a day.

Around the same time was also diagnosed with a slightly enlarged spleen and liver ( thankfully no cancers ). Am also being investigated for stomach and bowel related matters.

My eyesight has been all over the place this last year - very worried about it, in truth. I've always had great eyesight and near bionic at distance. However, I have noticed that I get frequent blurring/almost double vision in my right eye intermittently - bad for aa few days and then fine for maybe four or five before reverting back to blurry. I have had my recent yearly scan and all showed up well. I also had a check up six weeks back with an optician and they said all seem to be fine ...
At night I struggle really bad too, now having to put glasses on to see when driving at night.

You need to speak to your GP and ask for a hospital referral as they can pick up more problems with their specialist scanners. If you are having double vision you are not legally allowed to drive so do be careful.

When your eyesight is blurry, what's your meter say your BG is at the time? Cos for a LOT of us - it's a very good sign it's higher than it should be. If you haven't got a meter - then get one! There's one on Amazon, the SD Codefree one that seems pretty reliable and is cheaper to buy the test strips for - if your GP won't provide you with one or a prescription for the strips.

As Pumper Sue says, if you "struggle" to see when driving at night, or have double vision, you shouldn't be driving. You might find that wearing an eye patch over the bad eye will help temporarily, and, ironically, won't legally stop you from driving.
