Hi diabolics, Had an eye appointment at hospital this morning and i still cant see properly. They drops you get are a nightmare. I remember years ago before you went home they gave you drops to close the pupils again and you could dee normal again pretty soon but now im useless till the next day. sunnies dont work anymore so the walk home from hospital is an adventure.

I think some people react a lot more to the drops, or some nurses are a bit heavy-handed when they put the drops in :( For me it's usually about 4-5 hours before I'm more or less back to normal (usually!). I walk home also, but take extra care crossing roads! 😱 🙂 I have to endure this every 6-8 weeks because of a problem with DMO (Diabetic Macular Oedema) :(

Have you tried asking them to take the photos without the drops? They are not always necessary, but tend to be given automatically to 'make sure' the pupils will be wide enough.

next time i will ask about no drops. anybody got decent sunglasses, need pair of polarised wraps so whats the best.

I'm still looking for a decent pair of shades after trying about 3 pairs on my numerous trips to eye appointments lol, like Northerner I have regular check ups for DMO but I was going 2 weeks every month for a while as unfortunately I had to undergo numerous injections for it :( luckily I don't have the walk home as a 39 mile walk with over 26 miles of it being dual carriageway I don't think I'd be safe haha xx
