Optician freaked me out yesterday, said I'd had a bleed in one eye. Guess who's being so very good with low carb now?![]()
Our haven’t been postponed. There is about a three month delay at present to the normal schedule, but they are still going ahead, just at a slower rate. I guess different paces are managing in different ways with the local rates.
Same for me. My Oct appointment is likely to be in Feb/March 2021. The gaps between appointment for cleaning have stretched the system. All we can do is look after our levels whilst we wait.So that will mean for me no retinal screening in 2020 -

I received my letter for screening in April when it was obvious it was not going to go head! Then followed but then the cancellation letter. As i have had no previous signs of retinopathy I will not be offered screening till next April, they are concentrating on high risk and newly diagnosed.
There was already talk that screening for those with no signs of retinopathy to be moved to 2yearly before the pandemic struck.
That link takes you to a RNIB site not the local retinal screen site.I did that is the link I posted above and that is what they said " Due to the coronavirus pandemic, all routine retinal screening appointments for patients with diabetes have been postponed."
So that will mean for me no retinal screening in 2020 -
This might be helpful in understanding how they are going about restarting the Retinal Screening programme (covid permitting)
