Type 2
One of the first things I noticed before being diagnosed with type 2 was my eyes not focusing long distance but they began to focus close up so didn't need reading glasses. Got diagnosed then got eyes tested had new glasses and had perfect vision but in the first week of taking meds and changing diet my eyes went back to normal so the new £160 glasses were useless and now its gone the other way, I can't focus close up but long distance is fairly focussed.

So question is, should I get re tested now and buy another £160 glasses or just wait and see what happens. I did say focus was one of the first things I noticed pre diagnosis but looking back I think having cuts on my legs, from garden work, that just did not heal not to mention constant weeing and drinking pint after pint at night including pure fresh orange juice were good pointers that thing were bad I think I knew but didn't want to face it.

If the optician was aware you had been diagnosed he should not have tested your eyes until your blood sugars were under control. So if this is the case go back and ask for a refund.

Did you tell the optician you had just been diagnosed with diabetes? They shouldn’t have sold you glasses until your blood sugars were improved. If you told them how recently you were diagnosed you may have some leverage with getting them to replace the lenses?

Yes - what @Lucyr said! My eyesight was still OK until after they started me on insulin, after which they simply weren't able to focus at all for about a month! Bored out of me brain, nearly. What a relief when they got better. Still never needed glasses for about 10+ years after.

Thanks all, I will wait a few months, thank god for cheap glasses in Poundland.

I went for a eye test but didn't tell them I was told I had type 2 so I can't blame the them.

I went for a eye test about a week before I was told I had type 2 so I can't blame the them.
I would suggest you contact the opticians you got the glasses from .
